Why a Butterfly?

The butterfly has become a powerful symbol of Multiple Sclerosis (MS). Its shifting colours reflect the condition’s unpredictability — the changing symptoms, the uncertainty, and the daily challenges people with MS navigate. Like a butterfly adjusting to the wind, those living with MS show remarkable strength, resilience, and determination.

Some also note that certain MRI brain cross‑sections resemble a butterfly shape, adding further meaning to the symbol. For many, the butterfly represents hope and courage in the face of a complex and often invisible condition.
